Get this right first!

Nutrition has become so complicated these days! It really doesn’t have to be this way. We really don’t know which way to turn, which way to go, or what to eat. It’s enough to make anyone’s head spin.

Keto is all the rage these days. Everywhere you go, you can catch people talking about how much weight they have lost from doing Keto. Everyone seems to be doing it, right?! However, that doesn’t mean you should, or that it will work for you, or that you can be consistent with it.

Please don’t ask me if I think you should do Keto or what do I think of it. If you can adhere to it, go ahead. If it enhances your quality of life, go for it. If you can stick to it for the rest of your life, go on ahead. It’s not my choice to decide for you. Gather all the facts and test it for yourself. Kapeesh?!

I can give you all the reasons why you shouldn’t, but you most likely won’t listen to me. So, figure it out on your own and report back. My response, with love, will be “I told you so” if it doesn’t work out. You may love it, and you may not.

I could list diet after diet here, but I don’t have time for that. The same answer to your question for any diet is: Can you adhere to it forever? If you can, then cool, do you boo! If you can’t then, well, keep spinning your wheels, or diet jumping, or finally ditch the diets and take a Simple, Sane, and Sustainable approach to losing weight.

So, what is “Get this right first?” – Keep reading, pull out of a sheet of paper – take notes, or save this post so that you can refer back to it. It’s super simple!

Before you go worrying about dieting with specifics, macros, calories, taking away food, etc. to body change, how about you focus on these big rocks first, and do it consistently for months on end:

– Protein with every meal!

– Veggies with many of your meals in abundance.

– Hydration – drink up my friend.

– Walking regularly will do you a whole lot of good! Leisure walking, not power walking!

– Strength Training for at least three times a week.

– Get your sleep in check – quality and quantity matters!

– Manage your stress.

Do those things, and you’ll see how things will change physically and mentally!

 

As you can see, I didn’t say to remove a thing. When you do the above, you’ll have less room for other foods that may be hindering your progress.

Start there and report back to me in 3 months! Keep it super simple, it doesn’t have to be or should be a complicated process, unless you want it that way. As you and I both know all too well – diet to diet, losing and gaining the same weight over and over.
