I don’t have time:

If it’s important to you, you’ll find the time.

If there’s a will, there’s a way!

Full warning up front, this is gonna be a bit of a tough love blog post.

I’ve just about had it with the time challenge. Don’t get me wrong; it is a legitimate challenge. Life is freaking busy for everyone, we all have the same 24 hours in a day.

Real transparent here – I’ve been neglecting my short Yoga sessions. I keep wanting to do them, but I keep putting it off, and before I know it, it’s time to go to bed.

For crying out loud, the yoga sessions are 10 minutes max, so what gives Candace?! I’ll tell you exactly what, prioritizing my yoga sessions. If it’s really important to me, I’ll make it happen.

It’s not a time thing, its priority thing or a procrastination thing or an importance thing. Am I right, or am I wrong?

It might be a perfection thing for most in lieu of thinking that it doesn’t count or doesn’t work unless I spend an hour two – been there before.

For me, it was in my early days of training. There was a time that if I couldn’t get my hour – ish workout in then I just wouldn’t do it. I was like hmph, 20 or 30-minute workouts are for the birds. I missed out on an opportunity to move my body because of perfection.

Boy, was I wrong about short and intense workouts! I can assure you with every morsel of my being that you can get a great training session in, in 20 or 30 minutes.

If you don’t freakin lollygag, be on your phone, checking Facebook or whatever you do when you’re training, you can get an awesome workout in, if you are staying focused.

Do you have to do 20-30 minute workouts all the time? Nope, unless you like them. By the way, they are very effective. Shorter and intense workouts are for when you are short on time or just want a quickie session because you actually don’t have time for your normal training session. They are also useful when you are traveling and things of that nature.

I’ll be the first to tell you, I love my longer training sessions, but if I can’t get my normal session in, then I’m gonna string me up some exercises in a circuit, push hard, and get it done.

Drop the perfect and still be able to get a good workout in for the day.

So, no time?!

Well, what do you have time for? And how bad do you want it? I think in this case, better health, drop some fat, move better, and feeling better are all reasons to find some time.

We all have the same 24 hours in a day, am I right or am I wrong? If I am wrong, please enlighten me.

What about the 30 minutes to an hour of mindless Facebook scrolling, we all are guilty of this. Or that 2 hours of Netflix watching. Here’s a great solution: grab your dumbbells and workout in front of the TV.  You don’t have to go anywhere, and you can watch that favorite show at the same time.

I recently asked on my Facebook page what folks #1 challenge is as it pertains it Fitness and Nutrition.

The overwhelming response was “I don’t have time.”

Time is a thing we all wished we had more of in our day.

What I want you to do – get real critical about your time. I want you to find the time. Instead of saying I don’t have time, think what can I make work as it pertains to my fitness. What do I want to prioritize?

I want you to actually sit down and open up your calendar and pencil in or type in everything that you have to get done in a day.

Then look where you can schedule your training or meal prep. Then get on it and stick to the plan and adjust if need be. Changing your schedule and moving things around are okay. It’s not the end of the world, if you only have time to prep some foods and then move the workout till the next day. Give yourself some Grace and do the best you can.

I’ll bet you’ll be surprised that there is some time to workout. It doesn’t have to be perfect; it just needs to be something to get you started moving in the direction of your health and fitness.

If it’s important to you, you will find the time. Drop the perfection #EffPerfect, and do what you can with the time that you have available, even if it’s a 10-minute workout three times a week. It’s a start!

Something is better than nothing!
